So here's the scoop;
my grandfather passed away not long ago leaving me his bonsai. he lived in southern california where it never freezes. I know what I am doing with bonsai since I have cared for them in the past. My main issue is it is going from 85 in the day and down to 50's at night to 18 at night and low 40's in the day in the mountains of nevada. Does anyone have any tips on how I should adapt it to the sudden temperature change? I have done research on overwintering but it isn't that helpful. currently I have it out front so It recieves morning sun and afternoon ambient sun and then in the evenig I put it in the unheated garage to protect from freezing then place it back out the next morning. Should I keep this cycle through the winter?
any help will be great
thanks

For the rest of winter that will probably do. If they do not have leaves, you can leave them in the garage, assuming it is cold enough to keep them dormant, say 10 celcius.
Do note that not all species from California can survive frost. Better check what you have there, and then make a plan.

do you have a greenhouse you can place it in during winter?
since it's a juniper i'd keep it outside..
maybe best to ask/check a local nursery / club or a fellow american enthousiast?
