HELP NEEDED!
We bought a bonsai ficus from IKEA a few years ago. The past year it has suffered
tremendously. The main root has rotted away and we had to cut it off. It was infected
with spider mites. After we cut off the root, we sprayed the entire tree and leaves w/
the solution of soup, baking soda and water to prevent spider mites from returning.
The operation occurred about 10 days. After the operation, we put the tree in brand
new organic potting soil, so it has better access to moisture. A lot of leaves have
fallen, but there are remaining green leaves and some new leaves have recently emerged.
The remaining root has shrunk/wrinkled slightly as it's struggling to have a consistent moisture
flow. Any ideas about "best effort ways" to help the tree survive would be very much
appreciated!
I am attaching pics
Thanks in advance!

Gave us a good laugh at least. I like how there's a glass embedded in the soil to hold the thing up; a classy touch.

CORRECTION:
Not soup but soap (I read it online that it helps with mites and bacterial infection)
Not 10 days operation, but few minutes, I did that 10 days ago
Glad I gave you good laughs, but I was not joking, I am serious!!! I am a beginner and for a few years I took a
good care off it, it was healthy, it thrived, then all of a sudden months ago, it
took a turn for the worst!
By your responses, you thought I was joking! Not so, just thought there might
be a last-ditch effort to save the tree. I am using the wine glass because the
tree won't hold (it's serving as a "temporary" root replacement for the balance to prevent the tree from falling over).
Also judging by your responses, you think there is no hope for this poor guy (((

It isn't and never has been a bonsai. Ikea doesn't sell bonsai. It's just a common houseplant.
No, it doesn't look like this plant is going anywhere. The shriveled up trunk and the lack of good branches with foliage indicates it's close to its end. I would not spend any time on it and ditch it.
If you still want to try and save it, look up care guidelines for ficus, for example:
Remove that glass and just plant it in the soil. Remove that plate too and follow the guidelines.
