First of all guys I would like to say a massive hello as I'm a complete newbie!
And please forgive me if this is a recurring thread!
I have a carmona microphylla, (oriental tea tree) his name is Dave. Had him for around a year bought from bonsai direct.
Over the past few months he has been losing his leaves. He is down to only a few now but does seem to get new growth. (Images attached)
At one point I feel that I was over watering but have got this down to a tee now I believe.
I live in a flat that doesn't get much natural light in winter so have moved him around a bit to get as much light as possible.
I feel he is on the verge now and am desperate for help.
Any criticism welcome as I need to know what happening with him.
P.s
Have just ordered a uv/heat lamp to maybe help a little which should be delivered within the next week.
Thanks guys,
Lee

I think you are too late. Above the new growth the tree seems dead to me. This new growth is coming from the last reserves of the plant, I expect it will die off too.

Hi Auk, thanks for the reply.
Have you any ideas where I've gone wrong for future reference?

One thing you did wrong was waiting for months before asking for advice.
First: this isn't the best material. This is what we usually call: mallsai.
Probably your watering regime wasn't OK. Also its location probably wasn't suitable.
I wasn't there, so I can only guess.
You're asking this for 'future refernce', but I strongly recommend, if you want to proceed in bonsai, to not get material like this again, and to first research what type of tree is suitable for you to start with.
