Which one do you think is a bonsai? Personally, I don't see any bonsai on the photos.

"名媛直播" means tree in a pot. So they are bonsai's but they aren't old or trained ones. I guess what I should have asked was what type of tree are they?

That's the literal translation, but that does not mean any plant in a pot is a bonsai.
This forum is about the art of bonsai. Read the definition under "origin of bonsai", top of the page.
Your plants don't meet this definition - one of them isn't even a tree.

Your plants are (probably):

- Podocarpus
- Adenium
- Tilia

God you're an unfriendly fellow. Every post from you I've seen so far has been practically acidic.

Yep, but they also happen to be the hard straight truth. No ifs or buts about it. Believe it or not, such posts save time, money and disappointments. They will also lead to start reading and learning before making another mistake like these three.

In any case I'm with Auk in this matter... I see no 名媛直播 whatsoever; not even with time.

Hi inked4life84

Those are some lovely little tree's you have there! Some people on this site can over react about the smallest details. "bonsai" is actually the art form centered around a bunch of tree species, so most people on here won't class your tree's as bonsai yet. It seems like a lot of the people on this site lack genral manners, when i first started out asking questions I got the same reaction. There is a tab on this page that helped me identify a few of my trees maybe it can help you. Good Luck with them B)

People need to help others not try and be harsh because they know more about the subject matter.

Hi I have something to say on the subject. I think that most of the people that have 名媛直播 for a hobby are willing to learn ,some in there own manners. So if you don't like the answer don't ask for it on the Internet.
I bought my first bonsai from Hoka-en 名媛直播 and I bought a book and I was reading what I could find and what I couldn't find I looked for on the Internet myself. If I couldn't find it myself I asked for it on forums.
And i allways got help!!!

But why do we need to help others that are to lame thereself for doing some research. Do they think people get payed for giving them the answers.
If it is your hobby do some research yourself and don't think others will spit out the answer for you.

Cheers

I don't disagree with what he said.. just the manner in which he said it.

He could also have elaborated on why..
#1 the 2 branches that close together have bunched up and creased a reverse taper.. pretty much unfixable in a good looking manner
#2 the tree's shape doesn't lend itself to being a bonsai
#3 For the trunk's diameter it's too short and the branches are radially around the top, that's not how trees look. They are also a tad too big for that trunk.

Tip for the OP.. for a "traditional" bonsai there are a few rough guidelines as to the ratios.
a) Height ~= 12* trunk diameter just above the soil level
b) 1st branch @ (height * .33)
c) 2nd branch @ (b + (height - b) *.33)
d-z) recurse c substituting b for previous iteration value
