Keeping A Juniper Indoors (sometimes)?

Hello. I am fairly new to bonsai, but I have done a lot of research over the past few months. I recently received 2 junipers. I know that they need to be kept outside or they will die. My understanding is that they have to have the dormant winter period or they will die if kept inside constantly.
My question is: Would my junipers remain happy and healthy if I kept them inside during the spring and fall and outside in the summer and winter? I do not have AC in my house and I would keep the trees by a bright window. My reason for this is that I do not really have a yard or garden to keep them in so keeping them outside is somewhat of an issue. If keeping them inside for any length of time is definite murder, then I can make accommodations.

Also, I have them potted in crushed lava rock soil and I shower them as necessary.
