Is there a chance?

Hello everyone
I have adopted this poor bonsai. It is approx 13 years old. Last year the owner neglected it in the sun. After the leaves turned brown the owner trimmed all the branches. She didn't want it so I took it. I have changed the soil and added some fertiliser. Is there any hope for this tree surviving? There is some fresh bark under the grey you can see the dark brown in some areas. Am i wasting my time or should I continue to care for it?

On a Juniper? Oops... Sorry man, that means she effectively killed it.
A Juniper without foliage is a dead juniper. If all foliage was brown, it was actually already dead before she trimmed it.

Thanks for the reply. So should I get rid of it? When she trimmed the branches there was a very light green colour still but I can't seem to see any. Is there a way of knowing if the tree is still alive through the branches or the trunk?

Well, that's up to you I guess. If you like to keep a dead tree, by all means, keep it.
BTW what is the foliage I see on the photo, it's not part of the tree, or is it ?

No it's not part of the tree. It's from another tree that was in the way

OK, that confirms it is useless, it won't bud back.
