How to do this?

I repotted this Siberian elm from my yard just days ago. I used miracle grow potting soil mix. Good drainage. Should I do any trimming? The roots barely fit in the pot. I really want this tree to work. They grow all over here.

This is one of the most often asked questions so there's a lot of information to find on this forum or via .
First concern is, indeed, to 'let it work'. Leave it alone, let it grow, make sure it is healthy.
Meanwhile, start studying.

Here's what's been happening, the leaves have died up all the branches. It grows new ones then they die all the up the new branches. Is it hopeless?

sorry for being blunt, Siberian Elms act like such. Mine wound up looking completely dead, it still with curlers in her hair thing. Yes she lives, and I will show a pic. Siberian Elms have such cute little leaves, even though they are weeds.
