Hello all!
So a friend of mine gave me this beautiful tree for my birthday, but even after lots of googling I still cannot identify it, do anyone know what type of tree is this?
I'm also very confused on how to water it. I went back to the shop, but as I live in China and my mandarin is not that fluent I just got that I need to immerse the tree up until the trunk for 2-3 minutes, every 1/2 days. I did that once (didn't saw any bubbling) but it feels kind of wrong, isn't this overwatering? Is there any other way to water my tree?
Last thing, the tree is potted into some sort of rock vase which has no holes for draining.
If anyone is familiar with this tree, could you please give me some advice on how to take care of it?
Many thanks!

Zanthoxylum pipertum, or japanese pepper tree.
Normally you can water with a watering can with a fine shwoer head attached.
Pots without drainage holes are askign for trouble. I think the soil this is in looks like pure clay.
Although the overall image is ok, I would probably pot it in a different container.
