I just bought this tree from Walmart, don't judge me lol. I need to find out the type so i can make sure it's not poisonous to my cats. I didn't even think about that issue until i got the tree home. I tried for a photo that best shows the leaf pattern

It is a ligustrum, probably ovalifolium.
As for poisonous.. We have had several cats, and we have load of poisonous plants int he house. Has never been a problem. Why would a cat eat poisonous plants??

You know that was actually the one I guessed when mulling over the photos and thank you for your response. Cat's don't eat plants directly, but I know one of mine is very active and might chew on something she is playing with, i.e a shoelace or..my bra strap. Won't ingest it more than likely but I just didn't want to put them in any danger. >^..^<
