Hey there bonsai lovers, I've had my fukien tea since Christmas and had no issues what so ever. However over the past week the poor little lady is looking awful!
I feed her once a week (starting in March), prune new growths where I can and have a mister which I use once a day before I head to work. Also the pebbles are kept fairly wet in the surrounding tray.
With the photo attached can anyone help me nurse her back to health etc?

Looks like it's drowning. Is the pot the tree is in standing in the water that's in the surrounding tray?
I'd remove that tray anyway. It's not going to help increase humidity.

very crisp looking plant.
EITHER it is too wet (And the roots have partially died) OR it has dried out causing roots to die. In any case.. The roots are not bringing sufficient water to the leaves.

can such a plant be "fixed" i.e. chop all the rotten roots, quit watering it, or just throw it in the compost pile???

*very* dificult to give good advice, as a lot depends on the caretaker. In such situations I take the plant out of a pot, and have a carefull look at the rootbal to assess the extend of the damage. Basically, I would very carefully peel substrate away untill I get to healthy roots and then repot into a suitable substrate.
