Roughly 2-week old Lemon Cypress is starting to turn brown from base going up. There's healthy growth on the top though but I'm worried the shedding will catch up. What to do?

what country are you in Where are you keeping it? How are you watering it? Pictures would help a lot,

pictures will definitely help, i think the watering has something to do with it as well. might be overwatering or underwatering.

2 weeks old? from seed? Or from cutting?

Oh! Good spot lb
that makes sense, it could be damping off if from seed. Or just undrwatering if from cutting or something.

Wondering if he means he bought it 2 weeks ago. We'll know it if we get a reply...

Just got back ...
And the tree is still brown, but it stopped progressing though. Top buds are green and growing.
I think I was over watering, as I just bought it. I regularly water it once a day and mist it for humidity. I also noticed that the soil was in clumps, not good quality I think. And so I was hesitant to change it as I just recently transferred it from a pot bag to a pot.
I'm in the Philippines. The tree is in a nice shady spot, no direct sunlight.

I don't think misting is helping, and I doubt you are overwatering. You should be checking to see if you need to water not to a schedule, check with a chopstick every day and water when almost dry. If the foliage is dead then I would remove it
