I got two ficus over the summer and I have had the worst luck with them :c About a month or two ago I treated them for scales, and I regularly check for the bugs and clean off the ones I find, and still use the spray, and they've been doing fine. Now all of the sudden, for the past week, the leaves have been developing yellow and brown splotches and falling off.

I'm very worried, one of the ficus has very few leaves. Will it be able to survive without leaves if they all fall off? What is causing the leaves to color like this? :c Please help me. You can see both trees in the pictures.

I'm not sure if this is caused by a pest, or is my tree not getting the nutrients it needs? Should I fertilize? I used a systematic insecticide with built in fertilizer recently. Have I over fertilized? I water when the soil starts to become dry, and I have a fluorescent plant light that I use, but I set my tree over by the window or outside when there is sun and the weather permits.

I haven't changed anything about the tree's condition. I run no fans, and my room is always a little warm because I recently got a parakeets and they're prone to freezing. I wouldn't say the bird being near my plants has affected them any?

Not saying this is the cause, but Ficus are sensitive to moving and changes in air moisture. (Changes in light & water trigger the onset of dry-season weather in many of their native ranges, and cause figs to drop their leaves at the beginning of a dry spell).

I just brought our large benajmina in, about a week ago. All the leaves are starting to yellow, and I expect a rain of leaves over the next 2 weeks.

In generla the ficus you show does not look too healthy though. Try to not play with it too much. Plants do not like changhes etc
