Yellowing leaves?

A few weeks ago I repotted the ficus bonsai, as it was very root bound when I bought it.The pot that I placed it in was wider, but not as deep, so I did have to trim off a few very thick roots that would not bend. I was very gentle when I placed the tree into its new pot, and then I have been watering it when it becomes dry/near dry. I used bonsai ingredients that were reccomended to me on a a few different sites. It is mostly pumice and forest compost potting soil. There is a small amount of sand in place of grit, and also some decomposed granite.
I live in Ohio, and it is fall now, so there are a lot more clouds and it is cold outside. I purchased a grow lamp and am keeping the trees on my dresser. The mallsai has gotten a few yellow leaves, but overall is doing fine. The bonsai ficus is still showing signs of growth and is sprouting many new leaves.
However, the leaves that it currently has keep yellowing and falling off. At some times they even start to brown. I am worried that it is losing too many leaves. What have I been doing wrong?
Thank you! I will see if i can upload pictures.

I do have a fan in my room, but it is no where near my trees. I put my trees outside if it is warm enough, and sometimes if it is sunny my mom puts them by her office window.
Could this be affecting my tree?

All the above may be happening in your situation. But.. It can ouf course also be suffereing bugs. Most likely are spider mites; Some ficus species are sensitive to those.

If my tree is responding to condition changes, what can I do to help it adjust so it no longer looses leaves?
Thank you very much!

No. You have to first figure out whether this is affecting the tree. If you do not have mites, why spray?

For the other ailments.. It might help if you could post clear, well-focussed pictures of the full plant, and of some of the yelllowing leaves.

I will stop moving the tree outside from now on. I have also stopped running my fan in my room, as I only did so because I liked the sound. The temperature in my room should remain about the same, and I will keep them under the grow light.
Here are pictures. There is one of the trees with the light, which I leave on all day and turn off at night, there is one of the ficus I am having a problem with. I am uploading a close up of the leaves now.
