More mature trees will do similar things, but smaller schale (internodes closer => Less extension).
Just tonight I removed all foliage on a tigerbark in the garden: It entered a flush about a week ago, after standing in pooring rain for a couple of days, then moving into the greenhouse. In that week, each branch grew 2 new leaves.
Weather will warm up again for a feew weeks her, starting today: I hope a new flush can be triggered to get some side-branches on this '7 euro bonsai' project I started 6 months ago.

Seriously?bob wrote: Cool plant i think it can make a good bonsai.
This is one of the trees we bought to see whether mass-produced junk could be used to create a decent plant, and how much time would be needed to get to something halfway convincing.
Anyway. not here to discuss my bonsaiperiments. Maybe if I get to taking pictures I might give it a thread on this forum too this weekend.

Also, is the pot okay, or would my tree grow better in a slightly larger pot? I know that the trunk and branches are a little thin at the moment.
For soil, at the moment I have a potting mix that contains peat, forest compost, and fertilizer in it. I also have some small gravel. Is there anything else I should put in it?
