hello everyone, this is my first time buying a bonsai. It is a commercial one but it got me interested in the art of bonsai. As a newbie in the field of taking care of trees and plants in general, I overused liquid fertilizer on my tree.. Its leaves started becoming darker and crispy then they fell off.
I didn't notice my problem & wrongdoing until all the leaves have died and dropped, maybe 1-2 weeks after the fertilizing mistake.
- I've re-potted it with new soil and cut some of its roots(that didn't show any strange thing btw) that was filling the pot.
- I have to mention that the trunk and branches are still green on the inside *fingers crossed*
It's been 2 days now. What I'm asking is: Is there a chance for it to come back to life?
& When do I know that it's over and my tree is dead ?
when there's no new buds/growth after a week OR Two from re-potting?
The bonsai is a Ligustrum according to 名媛直播 Empire's twitter account.
Thank you!

This is a new purchase so it could just be coincidence that the leaves dropped, and it is a good sign if the branches show green under the bark - many trees will react adversely to a change in environment. 2 days is too early to expect improvement, give it a few weeks, dont overwater, just keep moist. And keep fingers crossed..
