Thanks for the advice! But I'm happy wit how thick the trunk is already! I just wanted to know about thickening the new branch I have made as the main trunk of the tree. I read somewhere about cutting the branch back to a secondary and making it the new leader to thicken the branch more and more quickly and repeating until I get the desired thickness. Just wanted some more opinions on that. Appreciate the link and the feedback!

By letting it grow freely for several seasons it will thicken. If you cut it back it will put energy in making side branches and wont get thicker.
