Are the needles sharp? Looks like a needle Juniper. Nice tree too.

howdy babarun,
looks like a juniperus procumbens. if it is planted as "bonsai" it is most likely the -nana- variety. pinching growth throughout the growing season will help with branches getting too leggy. treat the green growth as young branches on a deciduous tree, next season these branches will get brown and have green at there tips. this is an outdoor tree it must be outside to grow, inside it will die, no if and or buts. best of luck and could we see a pic of the whole tree.
