Juniper with new growth, or sticky green bug? was created by stiple

I haven't had this long enough to tell if junipers leak sap with new growth, or if a bug managed to sneak into my junipers branches.
Can anyone recognize the green sticky bump on the back branch? The picture attached is the best zoom-in my camera will do. When I see it eith my eyes it looks like there are two little branch/leaf sets trying to break through the sap bubble/lump.

Junipers do not normally leak sap. I cannot tell from the picture, as it is too unclear. But my money would be on you have some bug in there. Naturally, it you do not need a branch at that point.. Better be safe than sorry and take it off? Hint: magnifying glas..

Possibly aphids, which is where the sap is coming from. I hope it is outside, if so then you could spray with a WEAK solution of washin up liquid. Just a few drops in a can will do. If you have it indoors you will kill it quicker than the infestation on it.

I havent seen aphids not move, or stack up in a pile before. I've had them ruin most of my vegetable, so ive seen the big adults and the small youngings too.
It is not only indoors, but hidden behind the fukien tea tree in the picture I've attached. The green bump has been in the same spot for a week now.
Ive also attached an overhead pic of the tree.

It is a wonder it is still alive, very low light levels and no humidity and too warm in the winter. The Juniper is a hardy species and must be outside.

Thanks for the concern, but I don't think it is low on light. The box is 2' X 2' and 3' tall. The lights are two 400W 5000K cfl lights, and the white walls and light hood reflect light pretty well. It's around 12,000 lumens in a roughly 10' square space.
The humidity should be ok due to the flood and drain hydroponic buckets that the plants are in, but I also have a tray of water in the box just in case.
As for the winter, that will be an interesting learning experience. 90% of what I've found on the internet says juniper and confiferous plants die inside. I'll post my results

Of course they will die. If you can't keep it outside then keep plants that will survive inside, and Junipers and other hardy species are not included.
