This is a ficus microcarpa. Alternative names are Ficus Retusa, Ginsen ficus, Chinese Banyan, Malayan Banyan, Tigerbark Fig, Indian Laurel, Curtain fig and many more

If you got this at home depot there is a good chance that there are rocks glued to the top of the soil. Those need to come off. Also it probably should be re-potted in good bonsai soil.

it is a ginsing style ficus. the branches are grafted to the bulbus roots
