So I'm living in Okinawa Japan and found a gentleman that sells bonsai trees. There was some language barrier when he was trying to tell me what kind of tree I picked it. So I need some help identifying it.

Looks like a Japanese Yew.

Thanks for the help!!! Got a little scared when I saw Japanese Yew as I have young children. Now my next question is, should I keep it in the current pot or should I repot now. Also, that branch on the bottom, should I leave it alone or get rid of it?

Ropie: What is your view for this plant in the future? Which direction do you want to take the tree? Once you know that, you pretty much also know what to do to the tree.

nothing to be scared of ,yes some people are allergic to yew ( my father is,im not),but unless the tree has been recently pruned it will not effect the most allergic and it is usually only watery eyes ,runny nose and a slight asmatic effect with substantial exposure
