Hi Everyone,
My Chinese Elm has dropped all its leaves (In the middle of SUMMER!!!!) and the bark has turned a strange brownish-red colour.
If anyone has seen this before please let me know, i'm clueless... :S
Looking forward to hearing back from you guys.
Thanks
Shaun

it might be because the tree is chinese thus from the northern hemisphere, where it is autumn now. and the brown-reddish is normal.

brownish red color of bark usually indicates dead bark. This would mean your tree has died.
Without any pictures it would be hard to tell. Can you lift the tree from it's container without damaging the roots? Have a look and check the roots. They should be virbrant brown/yellowish/white. If they are completely black, you have a dead plant, which most likely died of root-problems. (Kept too wet, dried out, .. etc)
