Hey guys,
My name is Gary and I live in Kentucky, USA. I'm new to the bonsai world but have experience with other plants. I've read some articles and books on bonsai so I'm somewhat comfortable with them. I have 4 different specimens which I'm going to put pictures up for some ideas and ID. I have two succulents both are of the jade variety I'm told but look totally different. I also have a ficus who is shedding leaves and taking on new growth and a desert rose. The desert rose and the larger jade I fun in the corner of a greenhouse wasting away in 3 inch pots with the roots growing out of them, so I found some succulent soil and a pot and transplanted 3 days ago. I'll take any tips anyone is willing to give me on these little guys. Thanks

The one succulent is known as speckboom were I live. Your dessert rose is looking great, i love the taper on the trunk. Maybe try pinching the growth tips to get some back budding, and you can then work on so branch ramification. Ive thought of a blueberry bonsai, but dont know much about it.

Hi there,
Welcome to the forum.
I see wild blueberry bushes all the time, and have been thinking about digging one up. What holds me back is the fact that I have never seen one with a thick trunk. The leaves are small, so it would be perfect for bonsai. I'm going to camp this weekend and might just get one. I'll post a picture.

I love the way succulents look :)

I have a mini indoor display that I wanted to use a succulent as an accent plant. Can those little guys survive with low light?
