Last weekend after a lot of research i decided to get my 1st bonsai and see where it would take me. I ended up picking up a Chinese Juniper and so far so good. I have a local bonsai dealer here and they had suggested i wait a bit before i start to prune as they had just repotted it 2-3 weeks ago. I noticed it has more of an organic soil and not the quick draining bonsai mix i had been reading up about so just have been watering when it dries out. I ended up making a sudo-greenhouse enclosure for it on my room as with winds i didn't want it to fall off the roof. It doesn't keep tons of humidity which i read wasn't the best for this bonsai
My question is I'm wanting to start pruning away some of the excess and just done know where to start, i know I'm supposed to do a mixture of pinching and cutting the thicker stuff, just don't really know where to start. Also was interested in what people thought about the look of it so far, appears to be a han-kangai and i just don't know if this is an ideal look but i love it...let me know any advice thanks

This tree will develop problems if it's in a greenhouse on a roof. It needs air to circulate. If I were you I wouldn't prune it
Patience is the first thing you need to learn about bonsai. There is a lot of waiting and contemplation.
It's better to leave the pruning until you have a clear idea of where you want to go with this tree.
If you want to prune something, go to home depot or lowes and buy a juniper from their garden department and work on that. They are dirt cheap. That way you can leave the bonsai until you know what you'd like the final design to be.
