thanks again everyone for the feedback. leatherback, love the urgency! ;) I did a walkthrough of the beds around my yard, and found quite a few more of the maple, and quite a few of (what i believe are) some kind of elm, plus one little conifer! this week will be what leatherback described, so ill get them set up tomorrow and cross my fingers! looks like i might be able to leave the ones i want where they are for now, ill go looking for that article about trunk growth, thanks for the tip! ill get some pics when im done! thanks!

I had never really thought about CD's, and the tile thing was just too much effort for me. But I have a whole pile of old CD's and CD-ROM's that I use as coasters... thanks for the tip, leatherback! :woohoo:

Yes, I had seen that. But for wood and tiles I have to go to a DIY store and that's a bit of a walk from my home. Not got a car (nor a license for that matter). :)
