howdy,

well i did a search and found "wattles" as a species of acacia.it is basically a flowering srub and wattles seem to be from australia. i didnt see an "alpine wattle" but im sure some deeper research will find it...
in my expieriance alpine plants are dwarf plants that are slow growers but resiliant, due to the arid harsh enviroments they live in

Thank you for replying. It was a gift and in my expierance Acacia
seeds need to be put in boiling water to stratify but the instructions
say to put in fridge for 4 to 6 weeks. It is also known as a golden
wattle if anyone has tried to start this tree from seed I would like to
know how they did it.

Gday, the golden wattle Acacia pycnantha is the floral emblem of my country, hence most of our national sports teams use the colours green and gold. These trees are all over the place in Australia. The seeds should germinate if the seed pod had been fully ripened, although they do like heat also.

so try the boiling water and see how it goes, the leaves are quite large and I haven't tried this species for bonsai, I have tried Acacia linifolia but cant seem to reduce the leaf size by much and I find I am trimming it very often and haven't had much succes growing it into a decent shape, but I haven't given up on it yet.

Thanks Buna, on the box it says Australian Alpine Wattle, Acacia
Pravissima. Tiny leaves and golden blossom flower I tried the hot
water thing and already have one sprouting.
