Help me! Ive had my tree ,Chinese Juniper, since late feb. By early April the needls were becomin very brittle and the rich green was fading to a darker dull green. I changed the watering sched. and moved it outdoors for more direct sunlight. Up till a week ago I was seeing progress. One day I went out to check it and all the needles were brownish yellow! Since then it has become a brighter yellow. How do I know if its dead? What can I do? Contact me for pics. Thanks

Hi,

Pictures tells a lot about wha'ts going on, so maybe you can post some pictures?\

You can check if it's still alive by scratch away some of the bark. If it's green, the tree is still alive.

It can be that your Juniper gets too much sunlight and that the roots can't absorb enough water from the ground because the water evaporated too fast. Let the tree stand in half-shade, and water it good, don't let the tree dry out, but don't give the tree water when the ground is still wet.

With some pictures I hope the reason will get clearer, I hope it's not too late!

Yes!!! Do not give up on your tree!!! Have you been feeding it regularly? 名媛直播 trees lack the extensive root system of their larger counterparts and so need fertilizer to get all of the nutrients they need. What you need is something with nitrogen, potassium, and phosphorous. If you have been feeding it, check the roots. You may have been watering it too much, (does your pot have drainage holes? Are you using a loose, gritty soil?) which can leave your roots waterlogged and rotten. Carefully trim off any roots that are "slimy". (Regular scissors can do the trick, or if your tree is really little sewing scissors work well. Sewing scissors are designed to cut thread off of fabric and can be found at just about any craft store.) Afterward, set it in a shady, mild spot (outside, unpotted if your climate permits) and do not trim it, so that it can recover. If that isn't the problem, your tree might be infected with insects or a fungus, so go to your nearest garden center. They can probably recommend a good insecticide or fungicide. Good luck!
