I have these 2 Willow leaf ficus that have been without leaves for 4 months now. I have had them inside on the cold temps here in Frankfort, KY. I have had them both under the grow lights and humidifiers. Sitting on top of the trays with water in them. They still did not leaf out, so I just recently thought maybe it was no go for the both of them anymore so I did the scratch test to test to see if they were still alive and both plants are green underneath. I did repot on them to check the roots recently and they both have a lot of roots, so I wonder what is happening??
does anyone have any ideas on it and what I can do with them to help them out?
?Thank you, Carol.

I have a willow leaf ficus, about 30 years old, which I bring inside every winter. It is under a grown light waiting for temps above 50F which won't happen for a couple of weeks.
Every year it covers the window seat with dead leaves. I used to think it was dead or dying but now I realize it is just dormant. Right now there are a few leaves. Usually it really bursts out with leaves right after going out. I don't know if it is hours of sunlight, just being outside, or what.
I don't know if the grow light does any good. The tropicals used to sit in the south facing window getting sun. One year we had work going on and they had to go elsewhere, so I got the grow light.?

Grow light makes no difference for a tree without leafs. The wood cannot fotosyntesize.

Of course, but mine does have a very few leaves out. I have the light out for the other trees, and it can't hurt the ficus,I think.Growlight makes no difference for a tree without leafs. The wood cannot fotosyntesize.

Quotes doesn't work directly on my Android tablet either, but I clicked Source and got the quoted text surrounded by html and typed in that window.Sorry Ivan. Quotes does not work on my phone sinze last update. I was comenting TS not you. The tree in OP does not have a single leaf.
I knew you were referring to his tree. Mine only dropped all the leaves and month or so ago. The jaboticaba right beside it started bursting out about the same time and now is covered with leaves so I have kept using the lights.?
I clicked Source again and now can type in the usual window.
I worried about the ficus dying, but don't worry (much) because there are a few lwaves.
