Help!! I feel lost now that Winter has started and my babies are safely put away until Spring.?
My question to you all is what do you do during this unproductive time?..lol.
My houseplants are getting tired of me fussing with them and I'm just curious what other bonsai hobbiests do.. Other than checking to make sure my trees don't need any water, I feel disconnected somehow. I have about 5 indoor semi tropical bonsai, but they are also tucked away in cold storage ( 40f) in my basement fruit cellar.
Other than reading up on styling? pruning,?wiring, etc?..watching videos on trees I want to learn more about and generally learning all I can,?What else can I do to feel " connected" to my little bonsai world??

Well, it's not that improductive, there's a lot of wiring, plucking old needles on pines, there's also deadwood work, if you're into it...
For some deciduous trees it's time for more structural?prunning.
Hoarding substrate/repot materials is also a thing...
It's not as turbulent as growing season, but still kind of busy depending on how many trees you have...

Sharpen the tools is a nice winter activity.

Take a pottery cource and make your own bonsai pots?
