Hi everyone,
New to bonsai growing... Purchased a Japanese Holly (Ilex Crenata), and was going well until I went on holiday and forgot to water it... It went without watering for approximately 25-30 days, and when I came back the leaves were all yellow.
I've put the bonsai in a better location (outdoors that should get the morning and a bit of afternoon sun, then gets shaded behind another plant for the afternoon sun)?in hopes that it can be revived/saved. It's now outdoors, however the current weather right now is cloudy with the weather ranging between 20-30C, and small showers. Current season is also spring.
Attached is a few photos of the bonsai and the fertiliser that I'm currently using in hopes that it'll help with the revival of this bonsai (honestly I've got 0 idea what I'm doing... I should have done more research on how to raise a bonsai properly).
On certain days, the a few leaves may have a hint of green, however most of them turn back to yellow after a few days and won't stay or go fully green. I'm now watering it regularly, whenever soil becomes dry or near dry, it gets watered til water drips out underneath. Fertilised twice with the liquid fertiliser.
Is there any way I can tell if this bonsai is still alive??? And if it is still alive, how do I ensure it grow's back to it's full green condition???
Thank you everyone!

When you leave a plant for that long it is dead. Dead means dead and it is not going to recover. Keep the pot throw the dead plant away. Next time get someone to water it.

if you are still wanting a bonsai, maybe you could try a Ficus Ginseng? It's the only one of mine that didn't die, its actually looking quite healthy but I had a Fukien (which I now know is extremely fussy and hard to keep) and a myrtle, which both died when I left them with a relative while I was on holiday for a month But the ficus was just fine. Mind you, I still don't have a proper pot for it...
