Hi everyone,
I have a bonsai, which I believe to be a ficus with an S shape trunk,?correct me if I am wrong. I have
She was beautiful when I got it a couple of years ago but she was left alone for 3 months (about 2 years ago) as I was stuck in another country for 3 months due to illness so she was not cared for. When I returned she was practically dead, you will see that half is dead so I switched the soil on it and watered it and it is kind of alive but not like in her glorious days.?
I would really like to bring her back to those days but would have a few questions if you could help
1. As you can see in the photo half of the trunk, the top, is dead (I have attached some orchids to it)
?1.1 should I cut this dead part of the trunk out?
? 1.2 if yes, should I cut to point of where the trunk is alive or just above it?
? ?1.3 after cutting should I just apply some cut paste or should I do something more?
? ?1.4 as it will become a smaller tree do I need to place it on a smaller pot or should I leave her in this one?
2. I assume that after that I can start proning her and wiring to bring her back to life correct?
Any help will be appreciated, thanks
