Brazilian Rain Tree - checking on roots' health was created by orodruin

Hello,
As a novice I find myself here often and everyone in the forums is so helpful, so I'm back again for some advice.?I have a Brazilian Rain Tree that is now a couple of years in my care and (artistry ineptitude aside) I think is living on quite well. I felt that over time I had gotten in a good understanding of when it needed water and how to keep it happy, especially in the hot months of the summer here in New Jersey. It has been growing at a phenomenal rate these last few months and seems to be healthy, but I notice that the base of the trunk seems waterlogged. It is not soggy to the touch but the bark is definitely more worn out and I had a very bad experience with over-watering a jade plant, so I'm anxious about this.?
Note that I have never re-potted this or trimmed the roots. I badly want to as this growing season has I think used up all the rest of the room in the nursery pot, but I read that it is an absolute prohibition to take that action at this time of year, so I'm waiting for the spring.?
Any insights would be helpful. Is it normal? Is it already ruined and a lost cause? I'm not sure which direction to take my psyche in without some expert input.?Thanks in advance!

You cannot draw any conclusions from an overwatered jade tree that is applicable on a brazilian rain tree. Jades are from extramly dry desert and brazilian rain tree as the name suggests from brazil rainforest.
If the tree still look healthy I would not worry. Just decrease watering as it gets colder and it receives less sunlight. I do not have any first hand experience with the species. Hope someone that have show up with more targeted advices.

Thank you. I tried not to draw conclusions from the jade as it's such a different plant, but being so new to this I'm anxious about catching the warning signs properly. Appreciate your help and I'll look out to see if anyone with more species-specific knowledge chimes in as well.
