Hi, I hope you can help me. I am new to bonsai's. My Chinese elm bonsai is looking a bit on the worrying side just now, and I am not sure what to do next.
Also I have no idea if it is an indoor or outdoor plant, I have been keeping it indoors. Can you advise please.

Any help at all would appreciated.
I have attached a couple of pics.

I had the same thing happened to my first bonsai, I made the mistake of keeping it indoors and after a few months it started going yellow and dropped all it leaves. It eventually died

I'd say keep it outside and maybe also a watering issue too. I'm no expert though so I'd definitely wait until one of the more knowledgeable peeps respond. Mine was the same species tree too

Yes it must be outside, there is no such thing as indoor trees or bonsai. There are plants that need protection and Chinese Elms are not one of those. They are hardy.

Hardiness is not yes or no on a global forum. Yes, chinese elm is fully hardy where Geoff is. No chinese elm is not totally hardy where I am.
