We have had a few questions on maples in tropic climate. None of the posters has come back with a success story. I believe that maples needs their winter dormancy and that they die without it. But go for yourself and visit a bonsai club in your area and talk to them. If there are anyone growing maples successfully, pay attention to their knowledge. Both me and Geoff is in temperate climates, we do not have the key for growing them in the tropics.

Yep, Phillipines might be too hot all year around for maples, they probably won't go dormant.
There are a lot of cool species I'm sure it would do well there, like Premna Microphylla, Ficus, Ochna, Wrightia Religiosa and so on...
I see a people making wonderful 名媛直播 with those species in Vietnam and?Indonesia. Taiwan also have awesome trees with those.
So, maybe you can find them around you?

Yes ive heard maples are a lot difficult to grow here in Philippines, but ive seen success stories of others growing them indoors away from sunlight. ill probably try growing them under growlight. it cost around 10-20$ for maples. they are cultivated in colder areas in PH. Some are already acclimated, others not.?
You've mentioned Premna, Wrightia, ficus which really are so easy to grow here. ive had such species in my setup. But seeing how you guys grow maples made me want to try them.?
ill get back to you on how this would end up for me. Thank you so much for your help
