Norwegian Spruce from seed - help with sprout stage was created by Andydandy

Hi all,
I have been growing a Norwegian Spruce bonsai from seed. I let it germinate in the fridge over?March-April for 6 weeks, and by May a little sprout was able to grow.
After keeping the bonsai indoors for the first two months (May-June) I've decided to leave it outdoors after reading plenty of resources explaining bonsai trees are not indoor plants.
My only concern is the amount of sun and wind the bonsai sprout is meant to have. There isn't a tendency for Scotland to have very sunny summers (not last year at least) though its been a few days now where we've had over half a day of sun. Furthermore, some days it can be really windy too.?
Right now I am keeping the bonsai on a balcony that is facing east, the sun bathes the balcony from the early morning till afternoon, and when its windy there can be a lot of wind flowing on the balcony. In other words the balcony is quite exposed to the elements.?An alternative is a garden on the north-west, it rarely gets any sun but there is plenty of indirect sunlight especially during the second half of the day. It can be windy but it is not exposed as much as the balcony. It is a not as exposed as the balcony, though it can be damp and dirty and I am concerned of the risk of fungi.
Any advice on whether I should keep the sprout in the balcony or back garden? I have been monitoring the sapling since I've kept it outside on the balcony, the needles are green, and a new bunch is growing, which I take should be a good sign. Although, the stem seems to be slightly more yellowish or discolored since I've left it out, and the sapling is growing diagonally/oblique, like at a 70° angle. I've taken a picture. I'm somewhat concerned about this last change, it is noticeable how oblique

No you are not growing bonsai. It is a seedling spruce and not looking too good. It should be outside, and with proper watering and growing in 20 years you may have a tree that can become bonsai. At this age it is vulnerable to fungus, so the soil should not be too wet, be careful of the watering. do not touch the stem of the seedling as that will cause a problem, leave it outside all year so that it can adapt to the climate.
