I bought this Fukien tea tree in a garden centre last year. I'm just curious to know roughly how old it is.?
The garden centre staff had no idea how old it is, so could any of you experienced people?on here give a rough age. Although it doesn't look it in the picture, the trunk is 30cm thick at the bottom.
Any idea folks?
Nick

6 years maybe. These are money makers for the growers.
They don't keep them longer in the nursery than necessary because it cost them money to maintain.

Depends how age is defined. The amount of years since propagated from a cutting, the age of the wood or the age of the specific clone.
The age of the wood can easily be identified in a year when it is dead. Just cut the trunk on the lowest place and count the year rings.
