New Fukien Tea..... when should he go outside for the summer? was created by chicagobonsaiboy

Got a new Fukien tea tree over the weekend, got him at lowes on the clearance rack, in a garbage pot and drier than a dead bone but still green. brought him home, put him in a nice pot with appropriate bonsai soil, and gave him a nice drink and he sprang back to life nicely. even opened a couple of his cute little white flowers. Question is when should I take him outside to enjoy the few months of summer we have in Chicago Illinois? Want him to be happy with his new home.

I have successfully kept a fukien over the winter in constant 7 degrees. Based on that, I would say that if you are safe above that in nightime temperature it is time to go outdoors.
However, I never moved mine out from the greenhouse.
