As I said before, I have no own experience with this species. But to me it looks like a very healthy seadling that is reacting to the increase in daylight during spring. I would not worry. But I would most definetely move it outdoors, slowly transition it from full shade to full sun.

Oh that’s brilliant thank you, yes I am going to try to move it as soon as possible obviously just trying to simulate outdoor conditions as much as possible until I move back home.

Hello again,

I have noticed some white leaves developing on one of my seedlings and the roots have started to grow out of the soil as shown in the pictures.

Is this okay and if not what may be the cause of this.

Thank you

Roots growing out of the soil is a sought after feature in bonsai. Google the term nebari and you will understand.

Oh thank you, yes I have heard you mention the term previously and I will do some research, how about the white patches that are forming on some of them lower leaves is that a problem?

As stated before I do not have any own experience with this species. But I would not worry too much if this happened to a new species of mine. I guess it is down to environment as always. If summer has arived at your place, take it outdoors. Start in full shade and gradually over a 6 week period move it to more and more sun. It will proboably leave you more focused on the new growth than on small issues on the old one. Old leafs will die sooner or later.
