White Pine

I have a question for the real professional.
In August 2022 I bought a white pine privately, the person I bought it from only recognized the tree as a white pine. I therefore assumed that I was buying a root real white pine.
When I took over the tree it was poorly cared for and with a lot of fertilizer on the ground.
I first cleaned it up a bit in the autumn and repotted it in the spring.
In the first year I had the impression that he was having a bit of a hard time, even though I still gave him food. I then followed a lead from a professional trader who said that he purified an white pine in the autumn with new needles to get more backbudding (which apparently is not easy with a white pine)
Now I have the idea that the new needles from last year are quite small for a standard white pine and the new buds are not really sprouting very well either.
The question is, am I a bit early to judge the buds as they remain weak or small, or do I possibly have another cultivar of the white pine?
Appreciate your insight, thanks in advance
Best regards
Werner

I do not think that there are any real professionals here. We are all hobbyists.
Is it white pine (pinus strobus) or japanese white pine (pinus parviflora)?

I could not see any picture in the first post. Yes japanese white pine indeed. Actually it looks like two of them. Looks like they are on jwp root and not grafted.
The trees look healthy to me. The new buds is far ahead of my jwps. So I do not think you need to worry.
