I got this bonsai from a late friend and i want to save it but i am not sure if its even a bonsai or why is it dying or (maybe its not)Can you guys give me advice? First picture is 1 month ago second picture is today N.B I never took care of such plant

No, this is not a bonsai. It is a ficus microcarpa ginseng. If you are in nortern hemisphere now is winter. This tropical species tend to lose leafs in winter due to lack of light and dry air. If you get the care right it will bounce back come spring. As soon as outside temperature is safe above 10c I recommend to take it outdoors for the whole growing season.

Why would you re pot it? Is it not draining well? If it is then there is no reason to re pot. I would remove the outer pot and place it on a tray or saucer so that excess water can drain.
