I have bought my bonsai 5 months ago and it was looking great! Then the months following My tree had been losing more and more leaves and these weird fuzzy balls have started to appear (also in the soil) I figured this was some form of mold so I just scooped it out hoping it wouldn’t come back fast forward to now and it just keeps getting worse I’m not sure if my leaves are falling out because of the potential fungi or if it is just because of the colder weather I’m very new to this so any help/recommendations would be appreciated

I think they are called wolly aphids. Treat it with a cotton pad and rubbing alcohol.

The reason is often too dry conditions. So that may need attention as well.

Good luck.

You may be right there. I do not have much experience with pests, nor do I concider myself an expert. It was TS description looks like mold that made me think wolly aphids, not the photo.
