Hello forum members, I am new to the bonsai community. I recently purchased a Japanese Juniper online and when I did so thought I would get a dormant tree because of the time of year and had made plans as such.
What I received was a very healthy bright green tree with what appears to be buds on the end of the branches. So I guess my question is should I put it outside in our cooler temps (Northern Ohio) and force it into dormancy until April/May or keep it warm and in the sun until fall and let it naturally sync up?

If it has woken from dormancy it will not go back. I would look for a cold but frost free place to keep it until spring.

That is how it should be, it is already dormant. put it outside where it belongs. Inside it will die.

The only thing that worries me if it was shipped from a much milder area and has voken up earlier than it would do in the area it was shipped to. But TS do not mention where it was shipped from, How cold it is locally nor provides a photo of the tree.
I live in an area where we get a lot of our plants from much milder areas and seen many die from late frost because they were already out of dormancy.
