I check my soil with a moisture meter and four days later the reading tells me that the soil is moist. Is there something wrong with my soil. I live in Ontario Canada. I would be grateful for your help and suggestions. Thank You!

As far as I understand Ontario is in authum on the edge to winter right now?

Rain, sun and temperature dictates the need for watering. Here in coastal Sweden, I water my trees less than once a week right now. Soon there will not be much need of watering. Just a few times from now until spring. Mid april in my climate.

I also have almost stopped watering, only the small trees that have been getting some sun. You don't sat how big the pot or tree is, but there is nothing much you can do about it, the tree will be fine, if you thinks it is too wet you can put it under the bench or tip the tree up with a stone under to allow excess to drain away. I have never needed to do it but you may want to. I assume later you will put the plant in a shed or garage once it gets cold.
