When I water my trees I let the water run through the pot, wait and then water again. Every time I check the soil it is moist for days. Is that something I should be worried about? I think that my soil might be too heavy and hold too much moisture.

Right now where I live, the soil stays moist for almost a week. In November it will be two weeks. In December and januari it is 3-4 weeks. I do not concider that a problem, but normal seasonal fluctuations. In a normal summer I can wait 36 hours inbetween waterings. That gives me one day off every third day. I like it like that. If we get unusual hot days I need to increase to every day watering. In central Europe they need to water 2-3 times per day if it gets unusual hot.
I guess what I am saying is that you need to adapt your watering to the conditions not the soil to the conditions.
