Hi there! Nice to meet you all!
I rescued this Chinese pepper 7 years ago, (it was already +20 years old) it was almost dead with no leaves and a wired hanging it in the middle where is a little bit bend.
After these year I finally arrived to a healthy but wild state and I think it's ready to rumble!
As is 36 inches high right now, i would like to bend it and reach the attached photo example style. What do you think? Is possible with patience and time?
Today after 3 years I repoted to cut some cross roots but I saw that it may need a more deep pot in the next repoting.
I was wondering how should I bend it and when?
Thank you for your help!

Nice tree and ambitious project! I have absolutely no experience in pepper trees or bending that thick trunk. But I do think it is too late for that.
What I would do to create a cascading tree is to grow it a few years with just light pruning to get to understand the species in my conditions. After that start to reduce the hight slowly. Once reduced start to grow the lowest branch into a cascading branch. The second or third would be a new leader and the future apex. But Ill bet that would take another 20 years in my conditions
But honestly, the best is to keep growing it as the informal upright that it has started as.

is really to late?
I just see this video on YouTube
Dome kind of intervention like this maybe? After reporting in a deep pot and wait till the roots are well assented. Or is just another variety of tree and it may not apply to this kind?
Any suggestion of stile for a wild tree like this, if bending is not recommended?
Thank you for helping me to not making a mistake here!

I have seen this techniqe used a few times, but I have never seen any tree that has survived it. It does not mean there are no tree that maked it. Just that it is a very advanced techniqe that even very experienced artists fail on.
