Satsuki identification please was created by oogabooga

My neighbor at least 10 years ago purchased a satsuki from a show in Vancouver BC. She works in a greenhouse and is well aware of the importance of keeping cultivar names but still managed to forget what it is exactly. To my knowledge, theres thousands of cultivars but I'm willing to give this a shot to see of any of the experts out there can narrow down the list. The original foot tall plant died while we were on a trip 5 years ago but I still have a cutting that has been flowering for the past 4 years. This years blooms are mostly light pink but there have been dark pinks, whites, speckles, and striped blooms in the past.

This is the closest thing i could find out of 1700 in their database but mine may not even be in it

Im willing to take measurements, more detailed shots, and take apart a few flowers when requested. Thank you!

Why is it important to know what cultivar it is? A cultivar is just a seed cross that someone gave a name. On top there are thousends of natural or man made crosses that haven't gotten any name. Care and development is the same for all of them and that is really what matters in bonsai.

I can see why you might want to know particular details. I have three different azalea species/cultuvars/whatever and they all bloom and grow differently. They were all in the yard and are not satsuki (I think) but are American ornamental breeds.

One of them started flowering last May and has had blooms constantly since.

Having said that, I have no idea what cultivar that is. I would look for care guides and see if there is any marked difference and see if I thought it would matter.
