Desert Rose Seedlings and how to get a caudex. was created by CarolF4

I have some Desert Roses and I recently purchased 3 8 inch tall Desert Rose Seedling whom all are in need of a caudex.
How do you develop the caudex without slicing the poor plants up. I see different ways on You tube but they seem to involve cutting in one form or another.
Is there a way or some ways to get a good caudex developed? I am accepting all advice. I live inKentucky and so have to use my grow lights still as it is not hot enough to put them outside yet.
I have regular bonsai plants as well-this has to do with my Desert rose Seedlings.
Thank you, I have attached pics of the Seedlings.
Carol.

time..
In th end, a caudex is part of the normal growth form. So start with allowing the plant to grow.
As desert rose is not really my go-to for bonsai, I will leave it at that for now.
