Hi everybody! This is my second year having my juniper bonsai tree and I decided to prune the tree this spring because it was getting a bit overgrown. I decided to cut off some branches where I didn't like the direction they were going and now I believe that I should of tried to wire them as the tree is looking very bare without them. I also am a little bit worried about if I should wire the tree after cutting so much off.
I admittedly should have done a lot of things differently to prevent the situation I am now in but there is no turning back now and I need advice on how to continue.
TLDR: I cut some branches off my tree and now don't like the way it looks and I need help styling the remains. Or if I can without killing the tree.

That happens to all beginners . If you cut branches every time you think it looks overgrown you will end up with a tree without branches. Juniers do not easily backbud. Next time you think it looks overgrown start from the tip of each branch and thin them out. First after thinning every branch out it is possible to decide which ones to keep and If some needs to be removed. Thinning on procumbens is a very time consuming work and most of the time one does not want to remove a branch one has worked on for an hour or two.
Now, I would advice not to do anything more for now but read up on juniper growth maintenance and how to thin them out. Next winter start the work and spend the time you need to get it as you want it. Never rush when working on junipers.

Go ahead. No concerns in wiring and pruning a juniper in one session. What I can see on your picture is a happy healthy juniper that can be worked.
