The indoor tree business is driven by people like you. If the market wants indoor trees there will always be providers for indoor trees. It does not change the facts that there are not one single species in the world living naturally indoors and the hobby has been practiced for delades outdoors. Hmm, I don't even think these indoor trees is produced in livingroom conditions, just under roof in greenhouses with similsr conditions as connors setup.
If.you want to grow bonsai indoors, go for a jade plant. Not technically a tree, but can be trained to look like one.

Whoaa Geoff. Do not recomend things you do not know a thing about. That statement would render exactly the same response in an orchid grower forum as indoor trees does here. Orchids is grown outdoors, in greenhouses, in shade tenta, in terrariums and in cold rooms. Just one type (out of 28000 species and millions of hybrids) can be grown succcessful long run in living room conditions. Phalaenopsis hybrids, the jade tree in the orchid hobby.

I can't just make a topical room for the bonsai, Maybe when the weather gets better i will keep it outside. But what if you live in a flat?
Trees do better if their environment is very close to how the species evolved. Do some research to see what the environment is like where the tree evolved, look at your possibilities, and do the best you can.
