Is my bonsai dead? was created by GreenSmash

Hello, I am new to the world of bonsai. I recently bought a cherry blossom. It was fine but now it looks like it's dead. I water it whenever the top soil is dry. I water it until excess water comes out of drainage holes. I checked the stem and it's still green inside but all the leaves are dry. Is it possible to save my precious?

Are you in the northern or southern hemisphere? Sometimes garden centers sell cherry trees in full leaf in winter and early spring. These trees will not survive as they have missed the much needed dormancy.

In any case, a picture of the tree would help.

You cannot grow cherry trees indoors. It is a temperate tree.

First step would be to move it outdoors.

It looks like you bought a tree in flower? The flowers only last a little more than a week in favorable conditions. Indoors the flowering is much shorter.

I do not think it is to late to save.

So how can I save it. I am trying to give it as much as sunlight as I can. Sun is quite rare here. I don't mind if it doesn't flower. Also I don't have a garden so I just move it wherever the sunlight is
I also bought some bonsai fertilizer. I also noticed that the leaves are all dried.

Indoors you cannot save it. It will die and there are no way around it. Move it outdoors or accept the unavoidable.

Never fertilize an unhealthy tree.

Just to awoid future dissapointments. Allways reade up on species before buying.

Okay, got it. Just to understand what is the main difference between keeping a plant inside and outside?

The main difference is life or death :)

Trees just like all plants are natural adapted to the climate in their natural distribution range. The main reason they not spread outside the range is climate. Normal human livingroom conditions is hostile for most plants.

Thanks a lot for your help. I will try to put outside for the most part. I still can't give up on it. Hopefully it survives.

Most part is not enough. It needs cold nights and cool days when leaf are breaking. Just like the trees growing around you. This is a very good species for England. Cherries is locally produced, sweet and cheap.
