My tree might not be doing so well.

I noticed that the shoots on my tree are getting long and they are pale. Thought maybe it wasn't getting enough sun. But it stays under our patio out of direct sunlight almost all day. We take it in at night if it starts to get cold. Any ideas?

I would recommend putting your pictures on the forum. If indeed, it links to pictures and not some hacking spam site.

For most species, put the tree in the sun and leave it outside - don't bring it inside. Sunlight is energy. No sun = no energy = tree dies from hunger. Inside/outside means tree is confused about daytime, gets improper humidity, and it will probably die because it is outside its normal climate.
There is different advice, slightly, for different trees in different climate zones. What kind of tree is it? Where are you?
